Our spearmint essential oil derives from India and has been used to scent water, food, and cosmetics since the time of ancient Greece. It features a refreshingly sweet, minty fragrance that many find to be delightfully pleasant, and is a gentler mint as it has a lower menthol content. While it is most commonly known for its uses in food, spearmint also provides plenty of benefits for the body and mind. Spearmint oil aids in digestion, and is helpful in relieving stomach issues like nausea, vomiting, and flatulence. It is also mentally stimulating and can help fight off mental fatigue, stress, tension, and alleviate symptoms of depression. Discover all the benefits that spearmint essential oil has to offer beyond freshening your breath!

FAQ:
Animal aromatherapy is a whole other world and beyond the scope of what our products are designed for. The short answer is yes, you can safely use essential oils on pets – but only a selected few. It is important to note that no oils should be used on cats because their bodies cannot metabolize the oils and can seriously harm them.
Safety precautions must be taken into consideration, just like with essential oil use on humans. When using essential oils on pets, always dilute, do not apply near the face, and apply only in very low dilutions (i.e., less than 1% because of their strong sense of smell). Do not use on puppies less than 6 months old. Ensure that they do not ingest the oils or solutions.
Some oils that are generally considered safe for pets:
- Citrus: grapefruit, lemon, lime, sweet orange, tangerine
- Floral: chamomile (German/Roman), clary sage, geranium, jasmine, lavender (L. angustifolia), neroli, patchouli, rose, ylang-ylang
- Others: cypress, frankincense, palmarosa, petitgrain
These are some oils that are considered safe to diffuse when safety precautions are followed.
Please note that this is just a general guideline. Those who want to use essential oils on their pet(s) must educate themselves on the risks involved. Just like humans, individual pets can also have different conditions or allergies which need to be explored on an individual basis.
No, ingesting essential oils is not recommended. Incorrect use may lead to organ failure or other complications.
