Hey everyone! Meet Matt Poland, professional soccer player for Savsjo FF in Sweden. Matt chats with us about what moments he feels most powerful, what inspires him and what is his biggest learning experience in the past year.

Tell us about yourself!

I am a laid back professional soccer player currently playing in Finland.

  • What is your favorite way to sweat and how did you discover it?
  • My favorite way to sweat is playing soccer. I discovered it at 3 years old when my mom signed me up for a preschool league to let me get all my energy out.

What was your biggest learning of the past year?

My biggest thing I learned this year is we are all on our own path and journey to become the healthiest we can possibly be. It's important to support and encourage everyone because you never know what they are going through.

What keeps you motivated? What or what inspires you?

  • My family inspires me. If it wasn't for my family I wouldn't still be playing, so everyday I go out and play to make them proud and that I am not wasting a gift they have given me.
  • In what moments of your life do you feel most powerful?

I feel most powerful when I reach a long term goal I have set for myself.  It is an amazing feeling when something I have had to work on for so long is finally achieved.

Do you have any advice for our Way of Will Community?

My advice for the Way of Will family is to wake up everyday and ask yourself how can you improve on yourself today. How can I grow as a person and improve so that the day isn't a waste.

  • Do you have any future plans we should know about?
  • My future plans are to keep playing soccer and looking at doing some camps for kids when I am back in the USA this winter!
