Lavender oil’s versatility is unmatched. It is a powerhouse oil that is great for aromatherapy beginners and experts alike. Here are 5 ways you can make great use of Lavender in your health and wellness routine.
1. Create a hydrating face oil
Lavender oil’s antibacterial properties make it effective for preventing acne and healing acne scars. It helps clean out your pores and reduces inflammation by absorbing into your skin. After washing your face, mix 2-3 drops of Lavender oil with a carrier oil and apply to your skin. And did someone say anti-aging? Lavender is packed with antioxidants that rid the skin of free radicals that cause aging. Try a few drops of Lavender with Way of Will’s Age Therapy carrier oil and apply to clean skin.
2. Use a diffuser
Diffusing Lavender oil is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your home. Not only does it purify the air, but it kills germs and reduces congestion and symptoms of the common cold and flu. Alongside its antibacterial qualities, it smells so amazing! Lavender’s sweet, floral scent is calming and soothing for the soul. You can reduce stress and uplift mood by adding 5-6 drops into your diffuser for 15-20 minutes.
3. Treat cuts, bug bites and open wounds
No more hydrogen peroxide and alcohol needed to clean a cut, burn or open wound. Simply use 1 drop of Lavender oil on a small cut to clean out the bacteria and speed up the healing process. Summer is almost here and you can expect a few insect bites here and there, and Lavender is effective in treating bug bites by reducing itching and swelling.
